NSC20Cs

Many ICOMOS National Committees have established or are in the process of establishing National Scientific Committees for 20th Century Heritage (NSC20Cs) to support and promote conservation and awareness-raising efforts at the national and regional level.

NSC20Cs are key partners to ISC20C: they bring essential knowledge concerning challenges and opportunities, expand the reach of ISC20C’s work, and contribute to a diverse and global dialogue on 20th-century heritage. The relationship between ISC20C and the NSC20Cs is guided by the ISC20C Bylaws and the Dubrovnik – Valletta Principles for the ICOMOS National Committees (2010), which define guidelines for cooperation, communication, and mutual support.

ISC20C encourages all heritage professionals (whether ICOMOS members or not) who are interested in the conservation and promotion of 20th-century heritage to connect with the NSC20C in their countries. NSC20Cs are likewise encouraged to seek cross-border collaboration and to share updates on their work annually with ISC20C.
