Following the publication of the 20cHTF in 2020, ISC20C, in collaboration with the GCI, invites members and heritage professionals from all ICOMOS regions to a series of European seminars that present and discuss the framework.

The seminars aim to bring together professionals, policymakers, academics, and representatives from heritage groups and organisations currently engaged in conserving modern built heritage, with an intent to learn, debate and stimulate the use of the 20cHTF.

The series of seminars will start with an introductory webinar. GCI will introduce the framework and outline its ten themes. Three guest speakers will present their experiences working with parallel frameworks and join a roundtable discussion to discuss why and how the 20cHTF can be used to broaden and stimulate the protection of 20th C heritage in Europe.

The introductory seminar is followed by a series of thematic seminars organised by ISC20C expert members on a selection of the themes. These thematic seminars will present 20C sites and studies from the European region relating to one of the ten themes in the framework. They will discuss how the framework can be used to deepen the understanding of the specific historic theme and vice versa, how the case study sites might expand the list of illustrative examples or how the sites exemplify the theme within its regional context.

The seminars will be held between September 2022 and June 2023. All seminars will be conducted in English and online. Admission is free. Registration will be required. Please find the programs and registration links for each seminar below.
