Zain is a conservation architect who holds a B.Sc. in architectural engineering and an M.Sc. in architectural conservation, specialising in heritage conservation philosophy, theory, and practice. Her work integrates heritage research, conservation, and management. She is an Associate Member of ISC20C, under the Communication Initiative, a Board Member of ICOMOS Jordan as the Emerging Professionals’ Representative, and the Arab States Coordinator for the ICOMOS Emerging Professionals Working Group. Zain serves as a peer researcher for the UKRI project "Reconfiguring Heritage: Present Engagements with Communities’ Pasts for Resilient Futures" and also works as a short-term consultant with the World Bank, where she conducted an inventory of key heritage sites in Jordan and contributed to the Amman Citadel Action-Oriented Site Management Plan. She also worked as a field training supervisor under the School of Archaeology and Tourism at the University of Jordan. She has contributed to notable projects pertaining to 20th-century heritage, both as an M.Sc. student and as a conservation architect at TURATH for Studies & Design. Namely, the Conservation Management Plan for Cinema Al Khayyam in Amman, Jordan, (GJU); the Conservation Management Plan of the Abu Dhabi Municipality Site (TURATH); and the Abu Dhabi Modern Heritage Intervention Guidelines (TURATH).
