Nina Heikkonen is a visionary leader and project management professional with a focus on environmental culture and the conservation of modern architecture. She currently serves as Head of Unit at the Alvar Aalto Academy, part of the Alvar Aalto Foundation based in Helsinki, Finland. The Foundation preserves the material and intellectual legacy of the world-renowned architect and designer Alvar Aalto by organizing international exhibitions, educational programs, and scientific events related to Aalto’s architecture and environmental culture—particularly in the areas of conservation and adaptive reuse of modern architecture.
Nina holds a Master of Arts degree in architectural history, complemented by studies in business and marketing. She has history and varied experience in international work, networks and several positions of trust.
