Emerging Professionals Program

The ISC20C Vice President Bureau Mentorship Program is aimed towards facilitating the engagement of Emerging Professional members in the work of the Committee Bureau and wider scientific work. Emerging Professional members are encouraged to express interest through a specified application process, and are then selected to work directly with designated Bureau Members on a range of initiatives, including organizational and scientific projects.

Current EPs of the ISC20C include: Kaleigh Sawyer, Katelyn Williams, Nityaa Lakshmi Iyer, Saranya Dharshini, Prathyaksha Prasad, Nirzary Pujara, and Samson Faboye.

The Program operates on a long-term basis, to enable the engagement of Emerging Professional mentees over a period of three years. Examples of current projects are based on the themes of: (i) Advocacy: including ICOMOS Heritage Alerts and Heritage Applause work streams and (ii) Education: including the Historic Thematic Framework project, Map20 project, and Heritage Toolkits project.

Prior to the establishment of the present Mentorship Program, ISC20C piloted a Mentoring Program in 2018. The Program involved ISC20C Voting and Expert Members in the role of Mentors, with M.A. and Ph.D students at BTU Cottbus-Seftenberg, Germany. Fourteen selected mentor-mentee pairs were instructed to meet at least three times during the designated six-month pilot.
